Miley Cyrus - Breakout (2008 album)

It will be released under Hollywood Records on July 22, 2008

Breakout is the first album by Miley Cyrus that does not have any affiliation to the Hannah Montana character. Cyrus has said that Meet Miley Cyrus was "just meeting me, finding out who I am", while Breakout was inspired by "what's been going on in my life in the past year." "I wanted to embrace my older audience a little more, kind of taking shackles off and doing the music I wanted to do," Cyrus said of Breakout. Cyrus co-wrote all songs on the album apart from two. "Songwriting is what I really want to do with my life forever,I just hope this record showcases that, more than anything, I'm a writer."

The songs that Cyrus did not co-write are both covers. "These Four Walls" was originally recorded by MTV reality TV star Cheyenne Kimball, appearing on her debut album The Day Has Come. Coincidentally, Kimball also has a song title...

It has been confirmed that Akon will be executive producer of the album, which is set for release on September 9, 2008.

On July 2, 2007, the street single "Graveyard Shift" featuring Akon was released. The world premiere of the song was played on Sirius' Hip-Hop Nation channel. On March 18, 2008, the first official single "Dangerous", also featuring Akon, was released. "Dangerous" proved to be Kardinal's most successful single to date, peaking at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In early June 2008, Kardinal released the Limited Time Only mixtape, which features six songs that will appear on the album. One of those songs, "Burnt", was accompanied by a music video on June 30. The website IAmNot4Sale.com is currently being used to promote the album.

The Toronto-based rapper's album will feature established artists such as Clipse, Rihanna, Akon, T-Pain, Estelle, The-Dream, and Pu...

Doomsday (2008)

A lethal virus spreads throughout the British isles, infecting millions and killing hundreds of thousands. To contain the threat, acting authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos. The quarantine is successful. Three decades later, the Reaper virus violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair, is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.

I'm always a sucker for sci-fi movies so I give this one two-thumbs up. It's like rolling Resident Evil trilogy and I am Legend into one piece and you get a one kick-ass movie. And don't we just find bad-ass heroines really sexy? C'mon, tell me you don't like Lara Croft (of Tomb Raider), Alice (of Resident Evil), and the girls of Charlie's Angels? Hehe. Don'...

Never Back Down (2008)

What took axxo too long to get a DVD rip copy of this movie? I've been waiting for, like, ages. Hehe. Well, screw the storyline! All I cared about was fight scenes. I swear to God I'm not a fan of brawling tournaments but I'm seriously considering the option of becoming one. No seriously, it was awesome. The whole "screw the storyline" was just a catch. It wasn't just another fight club movie. It had a deeper message like taking responsibilities and all. I'm not tryna get any touchy-feely here, lol. Fave part: the round kick by Ryan giving Jake that massive 180 degrees head turn - you just gotta love it!

I'm glad Faris was given this break. I believe this man has a long way to go and he's not just the guy who's made for tivo. There's more to him than many people give him credit for ("Life As We Know It" series fan talking here, lol). Maybe he should stick to that troubled-kid-kinda-roles for a while, hehe. And for one second there I thou...

Multiply Sinking Slowly (but Surely)

First it was the music, now even the download links to the original videos are only accessible by their owners (ie, the ones who have posted them). On top of that, Multiply will only keep the original ones (flash version of the videos will stay for as long as you want) for 30 days unless you subscribe to their premium services. Whatever is happening to Multiply? What are they gonna take away next?

One work around I see is posting the the download URL to the post. That's fairly easy, except Multiply has a way of changing the URL (probably hourly). So I'd have to post a different URL everytime someone wants a copy of the video. Now that can be pretty tedious.

Another workaround is attaching the videos in private blogs. That way it won't expire in 30 days and they don't change the files location (URL). That could work, except it would mean another upload (which can be tiring not to mention a waste of upload bandwidth)....

Cyrus has said that Meet Miley Cyrus was "just meeting me, finding out who I am", while Breakout was inspired by "what's been going on in my life in the past year." Cyrus co-wrote all of the album's songs apart from two, and called them "grown-up".

Inline Styles

So you've learned the basics of HTML and CSS from this group. Wouldn't it be great to combine the two without uploading anything to your custom CSS? That can be done with INLINE STYLES. Simply put, it is adding CSS statements in your HTML tags. Many of you probably already know this, but for those who don't, I hope you find this tutorial helpful.

We know very well that CSS make global changes (ie, change the properties of ALL links, text, images, etc unless otherwise specified). But sometimes we just want to change a specific part on our page that just can't be done by HTML. This is where inline style comes in. (Oh would you just tell us how it's done!) Ok. Ok. lol

For the codes, pls go here. Don't forget to leave your comments. Thanks!
Insanitarium (2008)

Crazy movie! lol. Well, 'course it was! That's what the whole story was about, which quite frankly wasn't at all exciting. I dunno. I guess it's just me and my off-the-charts standards when it comes to thriller movies (lol). Don't get me wrong. There were more than enough bloodbath, and slitting-each-other's-throats, and I-wanna-taste-you(literally), and what-nots. But I guess it wasn't enough. Had a couple occasions though where I was kept at the edge of my seat.

Well, I'm just glad Jesse Metcalfe played the main character. He's actuallly done quite a superb job. I didn't think he'd do well cuz I thought he could only play boy-next-door roles (guess I was wrong). Oops. Character review ends here. Don't really know much about the other actors. Not like they did outstanding performances anyway, lol.

Having said all that, I'd still rate it 7/10. And yeah, I'd recommend it to my friends in the medical field. Heck, I'd even...

Happy Fourth of July

In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Congress approved the wording of the Declaration on July 4 and then sent it to the printer. Whether John Hancock, as the elected President of the Second Continental Congress, or anyone else signed the document that day is unknown, because that document has been lost — presumably destroyed in the printing process. Hancock's name and that of a witness do appear on the typeset broadside that was published within a few days. On August 2 in the following month, an engrossed document in script form was signed by Hancock and other delegates.

Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, picnics, baseball games, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United ...

Its release had been delayed several times since frontman Dexter Holland first announced the album in 2004.

Writing and recording sessions for this album lasted for almost two years, making it the longest time The Offspring have ever spent working on an album. Although drummer Atom Willard (who left in July 2007) was still a member of the band during the recording, session musician Josh Freese actually handled the drum tracks, like he did on the previous album Splinter.
